In Vietnamese, we use rưỡi to express “and a half”.
Structure
If the measure word of a noun is an “instance” measure word, like cái, con, or chiếc, place rưỡi after the noun.
number + measure word + noun + rưỡi
If the measure word is a “container” measure word, like chai (“bottle”), hộp (“box”), or túi (“bag”), or a unit of measurement, like mét (“metre”) or cân (“kilogramme”), place rưỡi after the measure word.
number + measure word + rưỡi + noun
When the noun is understood from context, it’s acceptable to drop it.
number + measure word + rưỡi
If the noun doesn’t have a measure word, place rưỡi after the noun.
number + noun + rưỡi
